VGNT1XP/L - Problem creating recovery media kit

i am having problems creating back up discs using the recovery media kit. i have copied the application discs successfully, but the first system recovery disc stops after48% and gives an error message. i have selected none in screensavers and disabled virus protection, but i have had several failures now. please help:smileysad:

Try using a different brand of CD or DVD as occasionally, some of these disks refuse to work with a VAIO. I personally recommend Memorex, TDK and Fuji as all of these are excellent.

As a further suggestion, disconnect from the internet and disable Norton Antivirus - it can interfere with CD burning.

EDIT: Sorry, you did mention disabling Norton Antivirus (I can feel another one of Rob's Holy Hand Grenades coming my way!)

i have managed to create the recovery discs by copying to dvd, however a further attempt at copying to cd produced the following recovery kit wizard report: recovery kit wizard has encountered a problem and needs to close. please tell microsoft about this problem. it also produced a report which i could have sent to microsoft if i had set up internet access. the message included details of a file which would be included in the report.
