I think about to uprade my VAIO with more RAM.
I have a PCG-FR315S with 512MB, sometimes I use Grafikprograms (like Photoshop CS) or playing games (like Gothic2 or URU), ...
(AHHRG must learn more english)

The RAM is full and the Data must shift to the Harddisk
(That's slow down the system extremly, harddisk and CPU-usage increasing terrible.)

In Germany, one RAM-module (like DDR SO-DIMM 200Pin with 266MHz ,CL2=2,5 and 512MB capacity)
cost between 80 and 120 ¿ (I use two)

But my question is: what is with the hardware compatibility?

Or what for firm? (MDT, Infinion, Samsung, Kingston,.......)

Has anybody practice with this?

Crucial have an online store in Germany, use their memory matcher to find the correct RAM.

Don't worry about your English, you're doing very well, if only I could speak German as well....

German is quite difficult to get right - its the latin rules used for grammar that still confuse me... I'm still learning though... I can speak fluent German, and I could survive on my knowledge of German to order food, accommodation, going out, meeting friends etc... but thats about it...

You speak English very well, I'm in awe of anyone who can speak another language. I learned both French and German for several years and I can't speak either of them.

Brand of RAM shouldn't matter, but a warranty is useful with whatever you buy it's worth checking. Crucials RAM has a lifetime warranty.
