I bought Vaio Laptop(VGN-A217M) and I want to connect my Tv with the laptop but I do not know which cable will I need to do it.

You really should have looked through the forum first, I know i have already answered this question at least 4 times, and god knows how many times it was answered before that!
Anyway, enough ranting
You need a 3 pole minijack to 3 phono cable. Like This one They are a lot cheaper than the sony cables, and i know they work, cuz i brought one off the same seller.

I have tried a cable supplied with my Archos AV20 Media Player with my A297. I get audio but no picture and the CP doesn't detect anything on Monitor 2. Is this likely to be cable incompatibility or a problem with the Vaio?

Also, how the hell do you search these forums?

So the Stereo audio and the video signal is sent only through the yellow port?

I have just got a K315Z and with my old Vaio i always used the yellow cable AND a stereo cable from the headphones, was this unnessecary?

For future reference....
White Phono = Left Channel Sound
Red Phono = Right Channel Sound
Yellow Phono = Video
