Hi,

i bought a FS 195XP a week ago. I am not sure if there exists a FS 195 xp in your country, because Sony seems to use different numbers in different countrys. So here are the specs:
CPU: 1,73 GHZ
HDD: 100 GB
RAM: 512 MB
GPU: GeForceGo 6200
OS: WinXP Pro
Installed all updates available at vaio-link.com

I'm really happy with this notebook, especially the x black tft is really great. But there are also two little problems 😕

Problem one:
If i dim the display (using the FN keys) the notebook beginns to to make a humming noise which is even louder than the fan...

Problem two:
The fan starts to run after about 5 Minutes, even if i am not doing anything with my notebook... CPU temperature is about 40°C... i don't think that fan is necessary with this low cpu temperature... but as far as i know there is no tool to change the the fan behaviour...

I wrote a email to support@vaio-link.com but got now answer within a week 😕

Maybe someone here has had some simillar problems, and has already found a solution? Thx for any information!

cya
Revil

Yeah we have a model like that in the UK, nice it is too

I don't like the sound of problem 1, but maybe it's a normal thing (any FS users in the house?)

As for 2 - I think it's a good thing, as it makes the components last longer if they stay at a good tempreture.
