Is the drive showing in My Computer?</SPAN></P><P><BR /></P><P><SPAN style="font-size: 12pt;">Have you tried both CD and DVD disks, both pre-recorded and blank?</SPAN></P><P><BR /></P><P><SPAN style="font-size: 12pt;">You could try cleaning both the disks and the drive laser lens with a proprietary cleaner assuming nothing above shows an error.</SPAN></P><P><BR /></P><P><SPAN style="font-size: 12pt;">Assuming that your Vaio is still within the warranty period a hardware failure would be covered. The warranty period varies depending on country of purchase - one year in certain Euopean countries two in others – I don’t know about Sweden. This also varies with operating system and whether it is a CTO model.
