switching between programs open without asking

I'm having this problem sometimes when i'm say in Firefox and suddenly then Thunderbird comes up on the screen, it switches between programs for no reason.
i've checked for viruses and all that jazz and it only seems to be 'internet' programs as sometimes i have Opera open and it does the same. the programs get slow as well. i was just having the problem and i shutdown thunderbird and it seems to have stopped.

any idea why it does this.

Edit to add, :smileyblush: I just remembered it just isn’t internet programs it affects. Also when I’d shut down my computer a file would never shut down properly and I think it may be the culprit, it is something I downloaded and forgot about. :smileyblush:

Sounds very strange, if you can get a note of the file then that would be great

did a search on google and I think this is what the culprit is. (I was searching to see if there was an upgrade on my video card but there wasn't.) don't ask me why I downloaded it. I'm going to delete it this evening. hope i haven't damaged my puter or that i won't when i uninstall it.
I have said I like downloading stuff before haven't I. :smileyblush:

edit: i removed the hydravision no problem. i'll bump this if it doesn't fix the problem. crosses toes, paws, heh. tks.
