Problem attaching LCD display (Samsung), help wanted

I just bought a LCD screen from Samsung (204Ts) I connected it and it works during bootup but something like 20 seconds before it is ready booting it disconnects the screen. I'm not sure why, but I would guess that it loads some kind of driver for the graphics card or something.
I have tried installing the driver for the new monitor, and I have also tried to fiddle around with the settings for the two screens.
But with no luck at all.

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-A295HP, it has an ATI board with a Mobility Radeon 9200.

It worked just fine when I connected it to my SANYO projector, but it just won't work with my Samsung TFT monitor. It's a 20 inch monitor which has 1600 x 1200.

Did you press FN and F7

Yes, I'm afraid I've tried that as well, with no luck.
