Sony A7III video recording: Problem with senor or dirt/dust?

Hi,

I recently noticed some artifacts when filming with my A7III.
I am not sure if this is a senor issue or dirt/dust on the sensor?

See attached image.

Any tips are much appreciated.

Hi sedzik, first of all, nice view!!

Try the below:

-Remove the batteries for two minutes.

Dust for sure.

Use a blower with the camera with the sensor in down direction into a clean area without wind.

I am on the latest firmware. As for cleaning the sensor and setting it to "cleaning mode" just read up on that.

I am still new to system cameras 😀

Yeah, looking to buy a cleaning kit. Something I can carry with me and clean up the camera when needed.

I advise against using cleaning kits. Using sticky material on the sensor is not the best for me.
Here are the tips for cleaning the sensor and lens. Remember that cleaning the lens is important because all the dust that is on the lens then ends up on the sensor.

You may want to consider sending the camera in for service periodically for general cleaning. I do so (about every 2 years)
