topic Can 'Zappin' be disabled? in Portable Audio

Just bought a new Walkman NWZ-B172 and was trying it out and suddenly it started to play funny. It would play for about 4 seconds and then switch to the next track for about 4 seconds etc. and then go quiet. I looked up the manual and found that I had accidently pressed the Zappin/Bass button. Okay fair enough, but try as I might I couldn't get the damn thing to revert to normal playing again. I tried pressing the button for a short time and that didn't work. Then tried pressing and holding and that didn't work. Eventually I managed to get it back to normal but I don't know how exactly and I found it a total pain.

Given the fact that I can't see the point in this stupid Zappin thing and would never want to use it is there a way to disable it for good so that I won't accidently press it again? A blob of superglue would probably do the trick but I'd prefer not to do that if it can be disabled some way.
