I've recently purchased a BT headphones MDR-XB950B1, and find it incredible that I have to install Sony's software in order to get the playing device connected. Can that really be true?

Hi Hjollund1,

I don't think it's necessary to install the app. The pairing steps in the UM don't include installing the app. Check this Page: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/xb950b1/v1/en/contents/TP0001176138.html. It might be just allowing the use of some functions, but that doesn't mean you can't use the headset without the app.
