Playstation 3 issues

I have a problem with my Playstation 3. Lately, whenever I try to play a game it freezes horribly. The loading times are very long and there are pop-in textures everywhere. I am curious to know what is the problem. The hdd is okay, I put the hdd into a laptop to check if it's alright and it is, the blu ray drive is also alright because the hdd games that are installed have the same problems, if I would go to a sony shop and tell them to repair my PS3, how much will they charge me for this, should I go or should I look for someone not so experienced but cheaper? Thank you.
