xperia z2 charging problem

hello guys,

my sony xperia z2 right now have a problem that it only charge through the magnetic port and when i plug in the usb cable, it would show that it charging rapidly even without a quickcharger and when i plug out the usb cable it still show that its charging. And when i charge using the magnetic cable, it always show that it it quick charging no matter which charger i use. Also somehow the rotate function automatically stay on when i charge my device (in the os, it shows that its already turned off).

So yes right now i can charge only through magnetic cable and it shows charging rapidly with a non-quickcharge charger and rotate function cannot be turned off.

i did everything include reset the os, replacing the battery and nothing turn out to work.

please help me fix this problem

I'm sorry to hear about your issue but that seems to be a hardware issue, contact your local support to get it inspected

Hi, I can answer this question. This has been happening to many Z2 users, obviously with many chargers. I've personally found that it happens with the original wall charger, with various USB A>C and C>C charge cables from wall adapters, car adapters and from various computers.

The device just suddenly and seemingly randomly stops charging. Unplugging the cable from the device and reinserting resolves the problem, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for hours. You just never know how long the phone will charge before this problem will occur.

Very frustrating to charge phone overnight and find it at 15% bnext morning.

I suspect that perhaps the software for smart charging (trying to time the charge to get to 100% just ebfore the user disconnects in the morning) might not be so smart and stuffing up random charging??
