does it say any error during updates?

try to boot to safe mode (long press on the power off option)

as for the headphone jack, i am afraid you have to send it back for repairs. http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

Z5 premium ok random error when the phone pings for updates and finds some either via Google play or a ota update the phone then acts as if it has no sim card inserted yet there is one.
Anyone else have this problem oh and my headphone socket has stopped working..
If I send the phone back for repair it will be it's third time, this is the worst phone I have had for reliability of parts.
Cheers all

No error, the only way I have figured this out is by finding out dates of app updates and watching it happen.

The more strange thing is this happens before the updates have downloaded.

So I have to reset my phone that then allows the sim card to be read then the updates come either over wifi or data.

I have swapped the sim card for a new one incase, I will raise a repair ticket for the phone and highlight a possible sim card error too

Thank you.
