Deleting previous wallpapers

Everytime I go to Settings > Display > Wallpaper > Home and/or lockscren > Wallpapers, it shows me wallpapers which I've used previously at the bottom in the horizontal scroll bar.

Where are these stored on the device so that I can delete them permanently? Using Android Marshmallow, if that helps ...

Album?

Live Wallpapers?

Photos?

Xperia wallpapers?

All the wallpapers at the bottom are previously used wallpapers, which I'd like to clear of the device

You are not supposed to see so many options

it should be Settings > Display > wallpaper > Home & lock screen >

Album

Live Wallpapers

Photos

Xperia wallpapers

Most likely this is due to the third party apps:

Google home launcher

ES file explorer

Glif

Apex Wallpapers, Click UI, Glim Lite, Iride UI, Live, Moonshine, Nova wallpaper, Polycon, QuickPic Wallpaper, rewun, rondo, sense glass, smoke and glass, steelicons, etc etc etc

Thanks for the help so far - however the above directory only contains the system default wallpapers, it doesn't contain the previously used wallpapers that keep appearing at there bottom inside the Wallpapers option.

As for all the options appearing, theses are displaying presumably from the installation of launchers and icon packs.

When you say at the bottom are you referring of the list of the other third party apps? you might have to clear the app data of those apps and/or create a nonmedia file on them, but that might create other issues.

If I knew the location of the wallpapers first, that would be a start the red ones originally came from my download folder and were deleted since. The others to the right came from icon packs, some of which were uninstalled. So clearing app data won't resolve either

Basically some of them are deleted but still show up there? @daherlihy That might be just cache memory. You can try to clear data as uli suggested, look for xperia home under settings - apps.

I don't believe its related to Xperia Home to be fair as it is a launcher in its own while I'm running a different launcher (Nova). Consider that the Wallpaper settings are the same irrespective of the launcher being used ...

In any case I've tried clearing both the cache and data inside Xperia Home inside the Apps, however to no avail.

I just saw your video. Can you try to clear data for media storage under settings - apps? I think you need to tap on the 3 dots to show system first. Note that this action will reindex all your media files, a restart is recommended and perhaps a bit of waiting.

Found the solution!!

Hold down on each wallpaper and the thrash-can appears in the top right - be gone you irritants, be gone!!!

Just the wallpaper picker (which is fine by me for now) - although I'd still like to know where on the internal memory they're being stored ...

All the options you get are not there on a normal xperia. Do you have a 3rd party app for managing wallpapers?

I don't believe so, no. I have a few icon pack apps and launchers (hence the multiple wallpaper options I have).

Have you any recommendations what I should install to manage these wallpapers and find out where they're stored?
