Cell information on locksreen

Hi all first post.

Total respect to Sony xperia phones, I've had, Z1 compact survive me (a builder) for two years and recently I have upgraded to a Z3+ 32G Dual awaiting reviews of X series and 7.0. Enjoying the Z3 so far, just got couple of niggling things I'd like to get sorted.

First turning phone on / start up was predominantly software updates to 6.0.1 but noticed that after updates and no apps added, storage was up to 12GB..... This seems excessive. Is this normal? Bloat?

Second I have a cell information notification on lockscreen permanently stating who my service provider is. I can open it, and I have turned off all notifications but the notification on lockscreen still remains. So I went into App info and forced stop, without the phone "misbehaving" now whenever I turn off / restart the phone the notification returns. Is this really a notification of 6.0 that has to stay? Recently only after running the phone for a week the app is now asking for permissions for location & SMS….? Is this an app that does anything / important, can I permanently remove this app / notification?

Very interesting reading. Lucky I got the 32G. Going to try to find the time to get through the forum a bit more and absorb more of the info out there.

Can I ask another question here pls. I've seen another thread but not really the issue. Google searching brings up a lot about importing and exporting but not this.

In contacts when I'm adding editing a new contact there's no option of where to save it to or add the contact to a google account anymore.

There was options of where you wanted to save the contact to. With existing contacts saved to google there is the ability to scroll between accounts with other apps tabbed under the contacts account/profile picture

Loaded a contacts editor app, but that didn't bring back the option either.

Thinking there's some wayto do it, otherwise what's the point of having syncing contacts to gmail accounts if it doesn't sync to anywhere?
