I Have Xperia Z & OK Google Setting-"OK Google Detection" Grayed Out-Can't Use Voice On Any Screen

Researched and can not find out why in Google Setting-Voice Setting-"OK Google Detection" is Grayed out!

I can not use OK Google from any screen.

I know on Galaxy cleared cache & came on.

Assistance or Advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi @popeye123,

Under Settings > Language & input > Google Voice Typing, make sure you have a supported language selected as your default.

Then, I recommend you go into Offline speech recognition and download your language pack so you can use it even if there is no internet.

Try to turn it on now.

Thanks for response. I did have default correct but where is offline speech recognition found. Can not locate. Thanks again

I notice you have factory reset your device recently. Did you sign back in to your Google account successfully?

Found off line and downloaded and still grayed out. As far as signing in yes my account shows up.

Can you try your phone in safe mode and see if it's doing the same thing?

Make sure you have the latest version of the Google app. (To get the latest version, go to the Google app page on the Play Store and tap Update).

@popeye123: i had this problem before, aside from changing the language to English (US) from the app, you need to change it from the device settings too and the keyaboard language.

All tried and still nothing!

Any ideas on other means to get this resloved?

ALternative sources or forums>

I use this a lot and moving back to Galaxy if have to.

PS-When hitting on 3 bats the top part-"REMIDERS" & "CUSTOMIZE" are also Grayed out.

I also from setting went to accounts andwent to google account and signed off from all CLosed out Google on Z5. I resigned in with no luck as well!

DOES anyone from SONY look & post here?

Do you have any issues with your microphone? You can test this under Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Microphone.
