I do however recommend that you connect your phone to Xperia Companion and check if a new update is available that way if you haven't already done so. New software updates can usually be accessed through Xperia Companion before it begins rolling out OTA.

I've read posts about this issue being solved for Z5 premium, but my new Z5 (US model) is having the very same issue. I am in contact with Google since I really like using Android Pay on my Z1 compact, but as of now they couldn't solve the problem and they are really trying. Exchanged many emails with them, send them debug report, build number,...

On the other side, Sony representative just brushed me off with statement how Sony is not responsible for third party applications.

After reading post about Z5 premium, it seems that there is miscomunication between Sony and Google.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

I am also having this problem on my Z5 compact - stock OS. Please advise soonest - considering that android pay is (or should be) basically stock, not having support for the basic authentication system provided by google is pretty unsat. I have always liked SONY for their continued support for their products and their compact line, but I need this app to work.

I was able to use Android Pay just fine until about an hour ago, when I got a notification from my bank that I'd remover their card (which I hadn't) Now I get an error saying my phone can't be used because it's either rooted or has a customized bootloader. I have done nothing to my phone since I got it, stock, over a year ago. Is there a fix?

Any chance we can get a Z5 fix soon?

The new Nougat releases are delayed, we didn't get the firmware updates that other regions got, and the Z5 still hasn't been fixed after several months.

I have an E6603 1300-4290 Customized US.
