Hello Friends,

I have a weird issue for my sony xperia Z5 after upgarde

After upgrading i am not getting incoming ring sound and also used to get frequently a message that ' contact has been crashed '

There is no issue with the speaker.

if i restart the phone ringsound will work for some time and after that it will stop

I have done software repair couple of time but no luck.

Does any one know how to fix this issue.

And about the ringtone, do you have the music stored on the external SD?

Can you test the device for me?

Call the handset, leave it calling and put the phone to your ear, can you hear the ring tone through the In ear speaker?

Thanks for the response.

When I put headset and tried to give a call.
Ringsound is coming from mobile speaker as well as headset also.When I remove headset there is no Ringsound from mobile speake I am getting only vibration.

Ringtone which I selected is from default Sony Ringtones so it will be in internal memory itself.

@ymk Can you try settings - apps, look for smart connect, tap on storage and clear data?

I also have the same problem + I also sometimes don't receive what's app notifications.
The new update added more bugs and problems than before 😞 I wish I never updated.

@alexdon nah my phone is never on dnd + I receive notifications frok other apps but what's app..., and the update still didn't fix the holding the home button issue.. It crashes the system ui.

Never happened to me when pressing the home button. Do you have a microSD in your device?

Are you willing to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion?

What happens if I do a factory reset.Does the Phone will go to old software where phone was build.

This issue seems like a software bug.Dont know whether Sony will fix this issue.This is a critical issue since I am missing lot of important call by using this expensive phone.

A factory reset will only remove all your data from the handset. A software repair will do the same, adding latest firmware reinstallation.

I have the same problem with my Z5 Compact - but its intermittent - sometimes it rings other times it goes straight to voicemail without any ring. It still displays a message to say it's missed a call but doesn't display the call in the call log. I've tried resetting (repair) multiple times but it eventually starts missing calls. Have tried suggestions on this thread as well but nothing seems to fix it.......

I have the same problem but I noticed the dnd symbol on the top right when making a call and I can't seem to get rid of it as in the screenshot... Dnd is off and I have used it previously... It only shows up when making a call.

I have the same problem and its frustrating !! I keep on missing calls because there is no incomming call sound! Installed the latest update but still not working, sms notifications can be heard, but no whats app notifications.

I can not believe I spend the amount of money I did on a phone thats basically useless! Please help

you're able to select and play the ringtones in the sound picker right? the sound files are still present and haven't been lost right?

this happened to me on lollipop, I only realised when I tried changing tones and couldn't play anything
