So I did a software repair and was amazed. After the repair I was hit by notifications to grant access for certain messaging actions from my operator. Not sure if this was it but it really seems so. Because after the update I previous did I did not get any of these notifications. I need to wait until next recharge cycle to be sure but it feels this was the problem.

I had a similar issue, even though i forced stopped all apps it still drained my battery super quick. Even after optimising everything.

Deleted the Facebook app and all back to normal, battery lasts a couple of days under normal use. It's been a couple of weeks since it happened and no problems since.

Used a battery monitor for a while but no app seems to be the culprit. So, after a lot of digging on the internet the problem was something my provider puts in their rom.

And that thing made things go corrupt and wonkers. It was the RCS (Rich Communication Services) that caused problems. I did not used it, not even able to select it but it was there. In the sms settings I saw all the option for chatting active.

Now, 3 days later after de-activating those options no more battery drain due to messaging services and normal battery.

Why on earth have Sony developed the Z5. I love Sony products but I can't be alpine in thinking this phone is pointless...yes the camera is fab but the generally the product is deficient. Why do I think this? Well because the battery life is awful. It is so bad that it makes the experience of using this phone restricted to mostly being any home with the phone on charge. Why have you developed a phone that in order to use it for more than twelve hours on a full charge, the user has to switch off most of the apps and phone functions.. Surely that's not value for money and makes for bad design etc.. So disappointed..or am I the only one thinking like this?
