Did anyone notice that the chassis bends on the power button area? Even the plastic bezel of the screen is getting bended just because of the pressure apllied on the power button.....just wondering if happens to you or if im just an unlucky one.....

Its like the metal plate on the right side of the phone is becoming loose, its begining to lift on the upper corner, just a little bit! The plate is begining to gain a V shape right on the power button and the plastic bezel is becoming deformed on that area....bought my phone 2 weeks ago....

Of course its a Sony product, its a freakin 750 euros Xperia Z5, the finish between the aluminium chassis and the glass screen is a thin plastic bezel. It suits perfectly on top, bottom and left side of the screen...on the right side it is disformed, its hard to see, in the morning i'll go to service to see what they can do 😕

Went to the store today, still no news from the assistance, however, I checked the demonstration Xperia Z5 and the chassis is also bent in the power button area. Im not sure if im going to keep it after the assistance decision, im tired of having issues with the construction on the Z series...had issues with the Z1, Z2 and now with the Z5, I really think Sony should put more efforts on building something with more quality to justify the astronomical price tag here in Portugal!!

I do not guarantee that someone sat on that device or it happened just like that, but it kind of looks like some pressure was applied there. I have had smartphones for 4 years, all of them from Sony. Some kept without a case in my front pockets, no problem whatsoever. Even dropped them and no cracks.

That phone was in a tight front pocket and they sat down or bent over.
No way on earth it happened just by being in a jeans pocket without force.
And yes, a phone made of aluminium will strangely enough bend in situations like this, I'm still amazed at how people are surprised when it happens.
I dont have any pictures but its not that kind of bending, its not bended in half, its bended inwards....can you see the left aluminium plate where stands the power button? Imagine an ice cream stick, now bend it.....the bend occours in the same way you press the power button...its like the aluminium plate and the glass screen look like the shape of the letter K...

Unfortunately it will be hard to solve this problem, yesterday I received a message to pick up my phone. Here in Portugal, Datafax is the Sony Authorized Centre, so they said the anomaly didn't afect the phone usage and there is nothing they can do, so I didn't picked up the phone! The employee from the store took close pictures n the chassis and sent it again to them. One thing is clear after all this, I'm not sure about future choices but, the way Sony handle things around here, it's almost certain for me to give up on this brand. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed! I had a Z1 (went to repair the vibrator engine after a year), Z2 (had lifted the back glass on the right upper corner, went 3 times to repair and I never leave the store with it because they said they change the back but incredibly the problem was there, naked sight, went refunded), Z3 Compact (front screen lifted on the left corner, sold it like that)! Now the Z5......afff, I've a Lumia 640, it's my backup phone, Windows is lame but this is a well constructed phone, I wish Sony or "Sorry" build a phone so reliable like this one!
