Physical on off button question

I have a question regarding the on off button. I´ve seen a lot of people using a lockscreen switch because they don´t want to ruin or wear out the physical button. How common is it, that the physical button breaks from normal usage(on/off)? I am using smart launcher and I don´t know if I can use a widget like that..

I am using physical button only and it is always working fine for me, just a solid build of tis part

Yeah! I am using the physical button as well, and always been using it No problem at all!
