Is there a setting for the first screen timeout?

Hopefully I can explain this because I have no idea what to call it.

I have a Z and when you push the wake up button it comes to the lock screen which you need to swipe to proceed or pull down for notifications. What I want to change is the display time of this lock screen state so I can read the email summaries in notifications.

I have found the sleep time setting once your past this.

Any clues appreciated.

There isn't a way to change this, perhaps with a different lockscreen app

i let my settings on 30 secs>

I miss the smart suspencion from galaxy s3...
