You didn't specify anywhere that it is 20% of 100. Just try to use the google calculator and type in&amp;nbsp;100-20%*100.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It will give you the same result as the first 100 - 20%. Google calculator is wrong or not correctly set up.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>It's not wrong. 20% is equivalent to 0.2 and so 100-0.2=99.8. If it's 100%-20% then it's 80%.</description>

      <description>Totally understand @uliwooly but the flaws are that you have presumed that the percentage is out of $100. So 20%=$20 etc. However the computer does not understand that you want it to calculate the 20% out of 100. So it presumes 20%=0.2. Get it? it has no amount to find 20% of as it's not stated. Say you said (0.2x100) then it knows it 20% of a hundred. Now granted that us humans an some calculators know to find the percentage of the first number but the calculator if it doesn't do this is technically not wrong.</description>
