Xperia Z5 - Wifi and bluetooth won't turn on

The subject basically sums it up. I'm using an Xperia Z5 and my wifi and bluetooth will not even turn on. When I go to the drop down screen, nothing happens. When I go through settings, it shows wifi is turning on, but nothing happens.

Try run a software repair but if that doesn't resolve the issue you will need to contact your local support team.

My brother and I both have got Xperia Z5 dual for our daily use. My brother is facing this issue in his phone where the Wi-Fi wont turn on and it keeps on turning on and doesn't find a wifi network. This issue has popped up around September. The interesting thing though is on restarting the phone the issue gets resolved. Along with this the phone gets auto restarted sometimes as well and on alternate restarts the Wi-Fi works. Another issue also cropped up where he was inable to receive an incoming call but that got resolved on its own a few days back on its own. I've never faced such an issue on my phone. Updating to Noughat hasn't solved it. Anything we could do about this?

Hi have the exact same issue. I have a Sony E6633 (Dual Z5) I had tried repairing phone a few times - it makes no difference.

I have endeavoured to use Sony Support - but apparently my phone is a parallel import (I had no idea about this when I purchased) and Sony refuse to RMA on parallel imported phones. The company I purchased phone from refuses to help as it is outside the 12 month warranty (by 2 weeks). This leaves me with a pretty useless phone.

Any ideas on fixing? Or is it new phone time.

i am experiencing the same issue, ive factory reset my phone twice in order to attempt to solve my issue, both times failed and im begining to get very annoyed as i do not wish to buy a new phone and yet it seems like the only solution. the issue seems to be software based but could also be hardware, im not sure to be honest. i just want to get it sorted. but one thing is sure, i will not be buying another sony phone in my lifetime.

October, 2017. Phone restarted for no reason, and the same issue appeared. Wifi will keep "turning on". I cant use sony support cz they keep telling me to write here, write there, with not even listening to the issue.

October 2017 - My z5 has just restarted itself and now the wifi won't turn on at all. Tried all simple fixes to no avail. Are Sony trying to phase this phone out or something? Lol.

Update - on again after about 10 restarts

I have the same issue, and this is how I solved it.
WiFi turns "on", but it does not see any networks.
Bluetooth won't turn on.

This is how I solved it.

1. Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Support.
Run the "Wi-Fi" test.

It takes a while, but it passes.

2. Run Bluetooth test.

3. Then reboot. My Wi-Fi now (often) starts as it should.
Please note that the problems comes back from time to time.

This is a work around, not a fix.

I have the same issue and this is not the only issue with the Xperia phones. This is my second z5 as they are bad!!! And on top f Sony being a bad phone they have the worst service ever!!! Stop making phones and robbing people!

Tried your trick, it helped.

Interesting though, Wi-Fi doesn't hold the connection, it keeps loosing connection and then reconnects again ....

Hi, i was also facing the same problem in my xperia z5 premium dual, i tried everything like reset,hard reset, software repair by sony pc software and flashtool to fix this problem but nothing works. When i become tired form every ways finally i fixed it by simple way.

Goto about phone in setting+ status + charging optimization. Make OFF your charging optimization. It will restart your phone. Now your wifi and Bluetooth both will work smooth .Enjoy
