Backup problem Z5

I got my sony xperia z5 a couple of weeks ago and encounter backup problem today. It was running as usual a week ago.

I went into Setting => Backup & reset => More => Manual backup

then try to change the "where to store file" to my gmail account but it wont sign in. It kept on saying "online account not signed in". Not matter what it wont let me change to online account, although the backup account section has my gmail signed in.

My gmail account is signed in in the accounts section as well and I cant find any other area that I need to sign in.

Could someone please help. This is the first time it happen since I got my z5..

I've got the same issue. When I click on "onine account" (not signed in), it tries loading for half a second and then hangs.

While trying to register on this forum, I got an error saying Sony is offline due to maintenance, perhaps that is the issue? I really hope this service gets revived soon, I just received my phone back from a repair and need to restore everything from the online account.

i have the same output as you did. online account says my gmail,. in the Where to store files part it the online account is already selected as defacult so you don't have to do anything but to click on the backup button below

ok apparently it doesn't work, i tried it and hangs up everytime,.

No idea where else to go to get clarity on this. It looks like I'll just have to start from scratch. What's the point!?

Automatic backup failed

Any of you suffered automatic backup function failure? It started on my phone recently , a few days after my update. It can no longer backup using my Google account. Everyday when it tries to backup automatically it just saying backup failed...

Any help please?

Sorry wrong button. If I log out, the screen will hang there. Then I try to hit back button to go back to the upper level which is the root menu for backup and restore and click more setting again to go back in. And then I can see that I am logged out.

Same thing happens if I want to log in. The screen will hang and I have to go back and click back in again to see I am logged in.

Also I can not edit my backup files. When I click edit backup file it goes into a menu that shows my Google account. If I then click the Google account it will again just hang there and do nothing...

I think it could be Sony upgrade problem....

My cousin who has the same phone has the same problem....

Hopefully Sony will update soon....

I contacted the custom service which they did not even know what Xperia Backup and Restore is.
I guess the other thing we can do is just disable Xperia backup and use google instead.

When ever I I select my google account account as backup and restore it's just freeze here for infinitive time. And I tried factory reseting my Xperia z5 didn't help. I am on marshmallow 6.0
