Facebook...new notification indicator...no new notification...HELP!

Can anyone help? How do I clear the indicator for a new notification when there is no new notification.

I've turned phone on and off, restarted it and cleared the data. Nothing.

Hi Nessa_77,

Welcome to the community,

I have come across this before, the issue I found was related to the Facebook application. Try uninstalling the updates for Facebook or uninstalling it, once done simply update or reinstall the app, the notification should be gone.

You can also try booting in to Safemode before trying the above, this may force the app to clear its notifications pool.

I had the same problem with WhatsApp but instead of uninstalling the app I cleared cache and data of Xperia home launcher from settings/app and it worked. But then I had to re setup my home screen again.

I cleared the cache, did a force stop and nothing.

I'll try the first suggestion. Thanks.

I had the issue in the past but can't remember how I resolved it.

Couldn't figure our safe mode on latest update so just uninstalled and reinstalled and problem solved.
