Xperia auto-updates that have already started.

I have a Sony XPERIA X3 Compact with 11GB of free memory, however, my Sony update has been trying to download unsuccessfully for weeks now, along with an update for Podcasts. I can't find any way of stopping them and so they are draining my battery constantly. I have switched auto-updates off in settings, restarted, switched off and on but nothing works. Can anybody help? Thanks.

Have you tried to update your firmware via Pc Companion or try clearing cache and data for the update centre app via Settings - Apps and swipe to All then locate and open said app and clear the mentioned items then reboot and test - or unofficial methods allow you to disable the app via a program called Debloater

I've tried clearing the cache and data, plugging it in to my PC for firmware and I've rebooted it so many times now, it's crazy! I've not heard of Debloater before, is that specifically to stop programmes from updating once they've started or is it something I'll need to work with to clear more memory, for example? I'm relatively new to Androids and seem to need these "sweeper" apps running all the time too. It's driving me nuts! 😲

Debloater stops apps from running and renders them invisible - It will not delete so at any time you can unfreeze or unhide them, If you do go down the Debloater route then freeze the update centre app as for updated Sony apps see here then once downloaded transfer them to your phone and install via your filemanager app
