For some reason my Z3 won't play music on my Sony car stereo, i use a USB cable as the stereo doesn't have Bluetooth, but it doesn't recognise the device, anyone know why, its frustrating and I've had to buy an ipod and that works fine.

Does it not also have aux in? Or do what I did. Buy a cheap USB stick.

Thank you for your reply,

My sony stereo is CDX-GT54OUI

I can use a sub stick but I like to have my own playlist because of the vast amount of tracks I have, perhaps the head unit is too old for my phone.

Thank you for your reply, it does have auxiliary but still doesn't play, I did use a sub stick for a brief time but it's not easy to find your favourite tracks.

The aux port should work does your phone handle headphones OK? Or maybe the aux port on stereo is faulty? And lastly you do have usb connectivity set to mass storage or media transfer?

Hi,

The auxiliary does work as my iPod works fine using aux and usb, I've tried switching from mtp and msc, still not having it, I would rather trade in my stereo and iPod for a new head unit rather than get rid of my Z3, at least I can try before I buy to check it works first, thanks for all your help guys, I just thought there something that I hadn't yet tried.
