Hello,

Hope you can help. My Xperia Z has a fault, I can't hear anyone when they are speaking on the phone. I can hear everything else, and when I put them on speaker it works all right.

I checked on the forum here and someone else was advised to download and run a diagnostics app, and if that showed a fault, to run repair in Bridge for Mac. I did these and of course all my data was deleted from the phone.

I now have two problems:

1. I still have no audio on incoming calls. Any suggestions for fixing this?

2. When I try and install the backup to my phone, it says the memory is too full. But the phone has been wiped clean - how can there not be enough memory? It's like it still thinks my phone is in its pre-"repair" state, with all my music on it and so on.

Repair the phone with PCC or Bridge, but make sure it's a clean update, it will delete everything on the phone

Hi uliwooly,

Thank you for your advice. Unfortunately I tried this already and ended up with two problems. A phone that's still faulty and now also with no contacts or apps because the backup won't install.

I suppose I could try running the repair again, but it certainly did a good job of 'cleaning' the first time around.

If the issue should still remain after repair I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

Hi segundus!

Sorry to hear you have a problem with bridge for mac.

Can you please send me the error logs concerning the backup.

Here’s how to get error logs from Sony Bridge for Mac:
1. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Clear logs" to remove all old logs and get a clean start
2. Reproduce the problem you're having, whether it's connecting the phone, importing photos, doing backup...
3. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the ”Xperia” menu. Select "Export logs"
4. On the computers desktop there should now be a file named "SonyBridgeForMacLogs_[date].zip
5. PM a shared dropbox link to me.

Audio problem fixed! I ran the repair through two more times, each time it went faster, and the last time the audio was repaired.

Now I just need to resolve the backup issue.

Hello,

Hope someone can help. I am trying to restore a backup of my Xperia Z and SBfM keeps saying my memory is full. But my phone has been reset – the memory should be close to empty. It's like SBfM can't recognise the reset.

I have made a copy of my logs which Fredrik on this forum suggested I do, but I don't know how to PM them to him, and I accidentally marked my last post as solved. Yep, am doing very well here!!!

Any advice would be very welcome.

Clearing data from the top 10 apps did not work, and logging in to Google Play only showed a bunch of old apps, not my latest ones and not my contacts.

Any suggestions?

Hi segundus,

Are you by chance trying to restore the media files at the same time? if so you may need to de select media, as all content is trying to load to the handsets internal storage, if there is not enough room, you will not able to transfer the file across as it may simply be to big for the internal storage.

After you choose "Restore Backup" ot will show you a checklist of items you can restore, uncheck Media files.

I am not sure it's an option though – this is how my backup is shown in SBfM.

I can't seem to select anything but the full backup file. Or am I missing something?

please slove it i'm not able to hear other people they hear me clear so problem is in my cell even i take cell to the shop from where i buy but they are also not able to slove it please give suggestion or contact ......
