When it does it does the bluetooth symbol go off as well? I have the same problem in the car. It like it loses it's viability to the car had unit. I have top reboot the phone whilst the car is on. The cats 2 weeks old so I don't think it's a compatibility issue. It's definitely the phone and is really getting on my nerves!

I'm connected to my smartwatch via bluetooth 24/7 and not once did it disconnect without any reason (distance to phone or restarting it). So it's strange for me to hear that you have issues with bluetooth.

Could it be that the problem lies with the handsfree device? Do you have the chance to also connect a second device and see if both of them drop connection at the same time?

Do you have upgraded to the latest firmware?

I have the same problem with my Z5 Premium.

Devices I have:

- Sony SBH52, which worked perfectly with my Nexus 6 and other phones.

- Sony SBH60, which I got with the Z5 Premium

- Audi Car, which worked fine with my Nexus 6, 5 and other phones

- Ausus ZenWatch (Original), which works fine with my Nexu 6 and other phones

When using the Z5 with the two headsets:

- I have to turn the headsets on force it to look for the phone and make the connection, which take aboout 20 secs. it works fine to start with. Sometimes, while on the call the the phone will disconnect form the headset, but still show its connected, and the call is routed through to the phone speakers. Forcing me to use the phone. - Very annoying. Originally I though the battery on the headset was dead, but this was not the case. This did not happen with the Nexus 6 previously.

When in the car:

- I enter the car, turn it on and find that the phone will not be connected to the car at all. So I have to go into bluetooth settings and force the phoen to seach for the car. This connects phone to the car, and allow me to make/ receive calls as normal. I have not experianced the disconnetion issue (with headsets, above) with the car, but I dont use the car for a lot of calls. - The phone needs to be discoverable, to allow the car to find it!

With the Watch:

The connection is automatic when moving back into range, and never seen the connecting with the watch fail in any way (with the exception of watch not being in range, which is normal). Works perfectly - so please dont break it.

When the headsets/ car is connected over bluetooth, I feel audio quality to be good, and stable. But when it does automatically disconnects, its very annoying as I need to work on my laptop or do other stuff while on a call. I think the phone is trying to save power, so it does not allow other devices to discover it.

Please Fix.

Thank you.

Same problem with my Z5 Dual in a Mercedes C-Class. The phone constantly drops the connection then re-connects after the screen is re-activated. Such instability makes it difficult if not impossible to use the hand-free system. Nothing like this happened with other phones in the same car (Huawei P7, iPhone 6S, etc). This is very annoying and also a safety issue. Will return the phone to the store.

I have a Z5 Premium and have also been suffering from the frustrating issue on my Golf Mk7 and Moto 360, I have been trying to figure out what the problem is.

At first I timed it to see if it was regular intervals but it wasn't that, then I thought it might be a problem with the RIL as you change between Cell Towers as it wasn't happening regularly when I was driving.

I'm seriously considering if it is a problem with "Throw".

I'm sorry to hear that bluetooth is disconnecting.
Would it be possible for you to send us log files from your phone so that we can investigate if this is something that we can solve from our end?
To take logs:
1. Settings > About phone > Build number, tap 7 times on the build number

2. Go back and select Developer options. Turn on "Enable Bluetooth HCI snoop logging" and turn on "USB debugging"

3. Turn Bluetooth OFF, turn Bluetooth ON (this is needed to enable the logging)

The next time this happens:

4. Settings > Developer options, select "Take bug report". When the report is ready you'll get a notification. Tap this and upload it to Google Drive.

5. With the File Commander app (or other File Manager) navigate to the file btsnoop_hci.log under internal storage and share this file to Google Drive.

6. Turn off the settings that was turned on in step 2. Turn Bluetooth OFF, turn Bluetooth ON

Please share the files on Google Drive and send me a link in a private message here on the forum. Also include what device(s) the phone was connected with.

My Z5P when connecting with my Jabra Freeway, sometime the bluetooth stack will crash and restart.

And it don't like to auto connect with the Freeway, I have to go bluetooth setting to press the Freeway to start connection.

My previous Z, Z1, Z2, Z3, Z3P don't behave like this, the connection is always auto.

Sometime there is also difficulty to connect with my Smartwatch 3, I have to turn bluetooth off and on.

And it keep forgetting my paired Smartband Talk, where I have to keep acknowledge the pairing and not auto pair.

Can you list the Firmware update you're running?

I'm on 32.0.A.6.200, ended up deleting all my connections and starting again and that seems to have solved the disconnections for the moment.
