Cripes on my lowly S3 it as one click "disable haptic response" and voila.

I get the same problem. Never been dropped and always in a suit/blazer pocket.

I found that if there is ANY pressure applied to the lower half of my phone needless to say where it is usually held, it vibrates until either the phone dies or I apply pressure to a corner or shake it.

I did try the software just to silence customer services since they refused to help otherwise. No big deal about that. It was all pointless since the phone done this constant vibration even when it is switched off, locked or during any app.

Mines going back to the store.

Just had the same problem, My sony Z is a repaired one just over a month old. It is Always in a Leather Case. 15 min ago the Phone just started vibrating (thought it was a call) non stop. Turned the Phone off but didn't stop. Turned it on again but nothing changed.
meanwhile searched the web for solutions, only thing i could find that it was hardware related.

Since the Phone is quite large and it was in my pocket when it started. I thought it could be from flexing the Phone or something like that. So i put it back in it's case, and put it flat on my hand and gave it a firm tap on the back with my other hand. The 2nd try was succesfull and the Phone stopped vibrating.
Checked if normal vibration still works and found no problems.

My experience with the latest Phones is getting worse with every model they (HTC / Sony) release. Feels like the phones suffer more and more from stupid (hardware) problems. Looks like the Urge of releasing a new model every half year is showing its flaws... ( i mean Z / ZL / Z1 / Z2) in a years time..

EDIT: An hour later the phone did the same thing al over again. i noticed that when i pressed the back-side of the phone a bit harder it starts vibrating again (happens when it is in my pocket). Then after it happend again it would stop anymore unless I pressed really hard on the back-side where the CE mark is, apr. 1.5cm from the bottom up.

So going to contact sony care (again!). Last time they did a good job, so lets hope they continue in this way.

I am facing the same problem the second day i bought my xperia z ultra. It start vibration for no reason and keep on vibrating untill i turn it off. Its so horrible. I have 1 year warantty for my ultra i am going to give it back. For those who don't have warantty can do the follwoing tricks with vibration and It will not vibrate again anymore.

1 - turn off vibration from phone and dont use internet on your z ultra. It will not vibrate anymore.

2 - If you want to use internet then you have to turn off vibration in every single app you have in your z ultra. Because there is option for vibraton in every single app which consume internet. Mail boxes / games / social networks etc. You have to get inside in every app and turn off vibration for notification , mails or updates or whatever. But still it will start the super annoying vibration at times but very often.

If anybody have got a better soloution, come forward with it.
