Z2 messages not displaying correctly

I have an issue with sms from just two senders with android phones, Samsung phones. The messages they send appear in inbox and taskbar but when opening the conversation the messages do not display at all, very annoying. I have tried force stop, clear data and restart but messages just don't appear.

This happens through default SMS app? Can you try other apps also like Google Messenger or Go SMS?

Tried go sms, handcent, Google messenger and textra as well as default Sony app. I think it may be a Samsung setting the Z2 doesn't like as it's only 2 senders

boot on safe mode and ask them to send you texts.

Yes they are using HTC messaging

ask them send you messages with another messaging app, perhaps Google Messenger

There's nothing wrong with your phone, the issue is the app they are using.
