Chinese keyboard doesnt work after update to Android 5.0

Just wonder the reason for Chinese keyboard not working after upgrading to Android 5.0

And any solution for this?

Hi,

Could you elaborate? How do you mean that it does not work? Are you unable to choose chinese keyboard via Settings > Language & input > Current keyboard Choose keyboards for example?

Yes, I have try to switch on the Chinese keyboard funtion in setting, however, it only pop up a message "unfortunately, Xperia Chinese keyboard has stopped " when I try to type

Then I try to restart my mobile, but it doesnt help

Have you tried to clear data for the Chinese keyboard? If not, give it a try via Settings > Apps > Swipe to the tab "All" > Xperia Chinese keyboard > Clear data.

Hi I just bought Sony Xperia z1 compact yesterday.

And I can't choose chinese keyboard via Settings > Language & input > Current keyboard (Xperia Keyboard) Choose keyboards. Menu has any language but chinese. Is there another ver of keyboard I have to download?

Hi S-ova,

Are you also using Android 5.0? You got me confused when you say that this menu has many languages. When you tap at "Choose keyboards" you should as standard have three options: Xperia Chinese keyboard, Xperia Keyboard and Xperia Japanese Keyboard. Are you sure that you are not at the menu "Writing languages"?

Yes, I upgraded to Android 5.0.
In menu Chose Keyboard there is only one option "international keyboard Xperia".

I thought that Chinese language should be in menu writing languages, not in separate keyboard. But anyway there is no option to chose another keyboard or chose Chinese language in international one.

And you have not disabled Xperia Chinese keyboard? Could you check this via Settings > Apps > Swipe to the tab "Disabled". If you find it here, tap it and choose "Enable".

But if you do not have Xperia Chinese keyboard at the tab "Disabled" or "All", your phone may have a customization where Chinese keyboard is not included. You can contact your local support team for further information regarding this:

There is no Chinese Keyboard in Apps (All).

I thought localisation may be the case. I'll contact my local support team on the link.
