      <description>&lt;P&gt;That message implies that your pop settings are wrong or your smtp settings are wrong hence why it won't open a connection to something that as far as your phone thinks isn't&amp;nbsp;actually there&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;But have you been able to sync/ refresh your emails before? Perhaps you have changed the password recently for your Exchange account, then you need to update it in your phone too. This can be done via Settings &amp;gt; Exchange ActiveSync &amp;gt; Account settings &amp;gt; your@account &amp;gt; Incoming settings.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;It sounds like something with the internet connection, have you tried with the mobile network? Perhaps you could&amp;nbsp;try another Email application? For Yahoo/hotmail you can try K-9 Mail which can be found via Google Play store and for Exchange, you can try TouchDown.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Did you find a solution?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I was using E-mail client on my Xperia Z1 for more then a year, and now it seas “Could not open connection to server”.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;the thing is it is syncing sent items and not the inbox and incoming mail, when i sent an Email then Email is send correctly.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So the only problem is that I don't get new Emails on my phone.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried deleting the account and setting it up again, it worked for the first time when it was syncing and syncked new Emails after it was back to the old problem...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please help.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same here. I have been sending &amp;amp; receiving email on my Z3 via Exchange for over 2 months. A lot of recommended updates were applied at the weekend and I noticed last night that email was no longer arriving. I have the same error message -&amp;nbsp;Could not open connection to server. I have tried on a wifi and 4g connection but the same problem occurs. The issue affects incoming email. I can still send out.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>I've started having this problem since 10th July, my Gmail account is working fine but my Hotmail account (which has worked fine on my Z5 since sept15) is now unable to connection to the server, I haven't changed any of my settings, come on Sony, how about a response?</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm another who suddenly can't receive hotmail/outlook emails and is getting the 'can't connect' message. If it were just my home wifi, I should have picked them up in other places. I have just downloaded the most recent version of microsoft exchange, but so far that hasn't made any difference. Under Accounts it says it last synced today, but the emails are still not arriving. Googlemail is ok, and I have no problems receiving hotmail/outlook on other devices.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have just tried opening my hotmail account through the google search box, and can see recent emails that way.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Update: I installed the Outlook app on my phone and can see my emails that way, then disabled the Email app and installed the Gmail app separately. Not as convenient as a single inbox, but at least I can receive and send emails.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I seem to recall a similar problem a few years ago when I had a different phone--it turned out to be Google withdrawing support for Microsoft exchange. So perhaps this is similar. Does anyone know?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>This happened to myself yesterday on my Sony Z3 phone when checking for messages through the email app. It's certainly not a WiFi/Internet problem as we have another mobile phone, a tablet and two laptops happily functioning as usual. The tablet is a Sony Z3 compact, with the same apps. There us no issue with the email app on the compact tablet. This happened to me after trying to empty an overfull trash bin.</description>

Any thoughts Sony? I'm not downloading another app and frankly I'm sick of Sony suggesting this as "solutions". Want me to download a brand new app? Then get rid of your bloatware.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same problem with a Z3.&amp;nbsp; Started this Aug (2016). Deleted the app and re-installed. Fixed the issue for about a week. Like others, I have not changed password or settings.&amp;nbsp; Can send, but not receive new emails to inbox. I recall a software update not long ago, so I'll assume it's from that.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've now installed the Outlook mail app, and that&amp;nbsp;works fine.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;PS...this phone gets HOT!&amp;nbsp;constantly hearing "your phone's battery is over heated"&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;First and last Sony phone.&amp;nbsp; Will go back to Samsung.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
