Some days ago I received my highly anticipated Z3 Compact. I'm very happy with the phone, but some minutes ago I noticed a defect.

It appears the headphone jack is loose. When I insert the pin there's a significant play were you can move the pin around. I will contact the retailer about this, hoping it will be fixed

Any other noticed this problem?

Thanks, I've contacted the retailer but I will throw a mail to Sony too. The thread might have been made in a slight panic.

No, I have only merely tried the ones given in box, and a pair of Sony MDR-10RC.

Aside from this, the phone seems amazing and just perfect for me. Just really sad about this.

Hello Johanhej, did you manage to get your phone replaced? I have come across the same issue.

In addition to the audio jack being loose, it registers as if I plugged/unplugged my headphones, thus pausing my music every time it happens (which is any time my phone moves... I.E. when I move).

I have the same issue, once plugged any headphone can move a bit in all directions.

I was, too, having the disconnect problem everytime I was listening to music, but I solved it by not using the Connect feature (I

was not using it anyway).

Now, music does not stop (or is blasted through speakers) anymore and I am not too worried about the plug moving a bit.

I had the same problem and had to send mine in for repair. The service center changed the port. As for play in the port; I've checked out every single xperia z3 and Z3 compact on dispay and they all have quite a bit of "give" in the port. It almost looks like a feature

I noticed the play in the headphone jack on day 1, but it wasn't until 6 weeks later that it started registering an unplug event and stopping playback with every tiny movement. Concerned that a replacement will just develop the same fault after another 6 weeks. Don't care for the idea of going through this another 16 times over the next 2 years.

I've suffered the same with my Z3 compact. After approx. 6 weeks... there was some crackling when the jack was touched. Quite rapidily, within days it led to failure of the headphone socket - it would constantly stop/ start and would make some crackling noises when the jack was moved, even when no audio was being played.

It was purchased through Three on an upgrade, who will only replace within 28 days of purchase. So the phone was booked into Sony's repair centre who fixed it under warranty, which took approx. 8 working days.

I received it back today, the headphone socket still moves, but there is no noise/ crackling and it plays audio fine now. However, the repair centre didn't return the little plastic sim tray so even though the phone has been returned I still can't use it. aarghh!

Like other posters, I'm concerned that the same thing will happen again it appears to be a weak design and I really can't be bothered with a repeat of this episode... all the backup/ restoring to another phone is on my time and frankly I wished I'd stuck with Samsung.

My old phone, a Samsung S3, has stepped up during this without complaint, despite being dropped a dozen times ...

I have the exact same problem. started yesterday morning, the music was stopping when the phone was in my pocket didn't take much notice of it. But by afternoon the sligtests movement would stop the music and register an unplug. Tried with different headphones same problem. have had the phone for roughly 5 - 6 weeks. Seems like a major design flaw. Going to send my phone of to Sony repair center this afternoon.... very sad and annoying. This phone keeps letting me down i feel...
