Z3C camera issue "recording in progress in another app. cannot record"

Hi!

I got my Z3C and it's a great device but got also a little issue with the camera app. Everytime I start the original camera app, I also get the following message: "recording in progress in another app. cannot record"
After confirming the dialogue, I can still make photos and videos. I deinstalled every other app, which could use the camera and restarted the device. Nothing is helping, the message is still appearing.

Any suggestion how I can get rid of this message?

Got the same problem. Read it happens when "Ok Google" is turned on

you can still turn on "Google Now" just uninstall the latest "Google Now update". I've been trying to fix it since the issue started and found out you can still turn on Google now just not to the latest update where you can use "Ok Google" anywhere on the screen.

Same problem here with Z3 (full sized) This seems to be a priorities error with the Sony camera software & to be honest we should have received a fix for this long before now - WHAT ARE YOU DOING SONY?????????????????????

From past experiences with SONY software the answer will be very little!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Install Google Now launcher - problem solved. I'm sure Sony will address this in the next update.

P.S. You still have do disable 'OK Google" detection from any screen, but with Google now launcher it will work with the "from google search screen" option even from home screen without interfering with the Sony Camera app.

Mine seems to be working again?
The app I don't think has updated. The only thing I have changed recently is the Bluetooth to unlock feature on. Also my Pebble was updated and I took off the all Dislock

videos not saving

In the last two days videos are randomly failing to save when recording in the intelligent auto mode. I've tried saving to the built in storage and the sd card and have the same problem. It doesn't happen all of the time, often when the camera first opens and I record a video before taking photos. There was a software update yesterday for some apps including movie maker (I don't know if that's relevant). The camera app freezes trying to save the video and when I hit home and return to the app it displays a message - "recording in progress in another app. Cannot record ". What can I do to fix this - this phone is less than a month old?

I have the same problem with my camera and voice activation through google.

Uncheck the voice command that leaves the mic open to hear "ok Google". I dont quite know why the CAMERA is affected, unless the NSA wants pictures and sound whenever they want.

If the smartphone has functional issues like this, GOOGLE and SONY will have to work out the incompatibility issue. I know this because the same thing happens with the LG G3.

If GOOGLE does not respond to hardware makers thne the writing is on the wall:

Google wants to be the only seller of phones that work.

Imagine if there were no Z3s, G5s, Droids, M8s etc. JUST phones made by google.

I wonder if any other company thought f that? lol (Apple).

Ive had the phone a little over a month and when I signed up, I paid off half the phone. I wanted to JUMP to a new phone. It would have cost me and additional $345, and T Mobile gets my Z3 back. Zero credit forthe customer, me. Still a brand new phone, not a scratch.

Thanks Alanwrench this worked perfectly. Something simple has solved the problem hard to believe that ok google detection from any screen can cause this issue. Sony and Google need to look into this.
