Front camera not working

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem as myself in regards to the front camera not working. All I seem to get is a black screen! I'm not sure if I need to activate it somehow or it's just not working?

Clear data for camera under settings-apps-all and restart.

the front camera of my z2 doesnt work in fact it looks like there's not even a front camera

Hi there... Same problemen as Sarah1 here. All of a sudden there s no switch to front camera option in any camera app intalled on my z2... Like it doesnt exist at all 😕 any idea how to solve?

Same problem here. Happened after I updated to kitkat 4.4.4 tried to clear data and restart, didnt help. Tried software repare didnt fix the problem either! Sony better come with a fix asap, if not i'm jumping ship...

Hi i have the same problem as mentioned above. My front camera is not working. Theres just a black screen. If i take a pic on it, the app gets stuck. I've cleared all data also from camera and mobile sitting. The problem is still there. Can anyone plz suggest a fix or let me know if its related to the new software update and that sony is working on it?

Having the exact same problem, done multiple factory data resets, tried wiping all camera data and updated software and connected to pc companion .. nothing seems to work it is very annoying. its s if the phone doesnt know it has a front facing camera no option to switch to it. when you use snapchat it has the option but doesnt switch just flickers and stays on the main camera.

Did a factory data restore in settings under backup and restore. During the restore process, it asked to update google. I suspect maybe the google updates may of caused this problem. The camera works fine now, but a bit of pain to setup your phone again with your personal settings. Hope this helps others...

UPDATE: After the intial Factory Data Reset, the camera work fine for one day. Now it's back to the same blank screen in the front camera. Also now my video camera isn't working either. I get an error msg "Recording in progress in another app. Cannot record". I know some folks were having issues with the "OK Google" app. I checked mine and all is unchecked. Spent most of the day talking with Sony and Verizon and neither was able to help me other than Verizon offered a refurbed phone. No thank you, my phone is new. **bleep** Sony? If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

i recently bought the xperia m4 aqua dual. it has the same problem. The icon for switching the camera just isnt there! i contacted the sony support people and they told to clear the data which was no help then they suggested to update the software which i did and it had solved the problem for a few days but it started again. whats to be done?

Have the same problem got her a sony t3 uk version and the front camera is not working on her she said she said she has lattest updates on it and all so dont no what the crack with the phone is should we return to carphone warehouse get a replacement???

THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING. ITS BEEN 2 WEEKS SINCE I BOUGHT THIS PHONE..

I thought using an android might be better than apple for once but this bug and sony not doing anything about it is really pissing me off.. they wont even replace my phone in the service center they are like oh you can only get it replaced within the first 7 days... i bought this phone to take selfies and if the front cam isnt working then this phone is just junk..

Sony should get their togther and come up with a solution for this bug asap.. I am never gonna buy a sony phone in the future ever again..
