android OS using all my data in 1 Day! and I can't disable it.

What da f ok so one day I recharge my prepaid to $20. Next day I woke up and find out android OS has used all my data! I did search about this and alot of people is having this too. But can't find any solution. Sony please do something with the Android OS. So yeah I was so p*ssed off! I wasted $20 in 1 day all thanks to android fu! Can you guys imagine that happen to you guys? Gd **bleep**.

It is not only the OS that uses your $20, also the sync of your email, weather app etcetera.

So, in settings (or notification quick toggles) turn off your mobile data traffic and only use wifi. Also check all your apps and select sync over wifi only.

That should do it. Succes,

No dude I turned off auto sync I'm not stupid. If I turn off mobile data then I can't use the Xperia security find phone. I need mobile data so that if my phone lost I can find it. So android OS is using all the data. Btw android OS use 50 mb an hours which I don't know what its downloading and uploading. I need Sony to fix this BS!

It's an android problem, not Sony. Try restricting Background data of all your apps through Settings > Data Usage

turn off location turn of 4g and see the difference with smart phones you need unlimited data to run em they not cheap that's like buying a Bentley and filling your tank 3 quarters hopping it would last a week

Done that. Nothing works. Why does mobile data plan cost way more than router data plan?

Go to Play Store -> Setting -> and select Do not auto-update apps under Auto-Updates apps menu.

I don't know when this was from, but my phone does the same thing (it's actually a Samsung but that's beside the point). Android OS used 687 MB out of my 1GB plan in 10 days and now I'm completely out.

I have the same problem with my XA. Except I have the data turned on and was connected to WiFi all day to test it, still charged me for data so I went to the shop and they replaced it. Now I have the same problem, the network provider said that if it happens with the same model then it's Sony's fault not the networks. I don't particularly fancy paying £1 a day for data I'm not using even when connected to the internet. I have restricted all data on apps, turned off back-up and then turned off the mobile data and removed the widget from the screen incase I press it by accident with no result. Luckly I'm still in the liable refund date so I will swap my phone out for a different model because as a student I can't afford to pay that much for my phone. Never had this problem with my older phones and if I didn't smash my HTC I would still stick with it. Seriously disappointed.

I have the same problem. Somebody please help. Android OS consumes approximately 100MB per day. The problem is not with my service provider. I was using a phone from another brand and it consumed less about 100MB in 2 days. Sometimes less than that.

I'm using a Sony Experia L1 (G3311)
