Error message when apps are trying to update

When trying to update apps I am getting the following message:

Updates could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error while retriving information from server. [RPC:S-3]).

Anu ideas that could help would be appreciated.

Do you have enough internal storage? what if you unisntall the updates

settings > apps > all > look for the app > uninstall updates > then try again

Thanks for the response. Free space 11.73GB.

I have tried uninstalling Google Play and then re-installing it, but when I try to reinstall I get the same error message.

Do you have any taskiller or antivirus? is your data on?

Not aware of any antivirus on the phone. I have not changed any settings that i am aware of which created the issue. It was workign fine until about 3 weeks ago, thne the problem started.

Open your browser and go to play.google.com > sign in and see if you can download an app from the browser (chrome)

Sounded like a good move, but just tried it and the same error message has come up.

are you on data or wifi? because it appears that the problem might be a network restriction

Currently have Wifi for apps, but have tried using data as well, but same problem.

Have tried using th ewifi at work and home, no difference.

Just tried installing a new app and it has come back with a slightly different code. This time it is RPC:S-7:AEC-0

Cleared the history as well as the cache.

Gone back into google play and it is now trying to update everything, all of which are throwing up the error message.

If that doesn't work, remove your google account from your phone > restart your phone > and re-add the account

settings > accounts > google > select the account > menu > settings > remove account

Sorry for the delay in responding. I cannot find the option to remove the account. When I go into the Google account I have 4 options - Search, Location settings, Google+ and Ads. The 3 dots that is usually a menu at the top only give a Sync now option.
