Any ideas to transfer iPhone contacts to Z2

Hello everyone,

I am a long time iPhone user and switched to Xperia Z2 recently. As the my old iPhone is pretty much old and I want to use Z2 as my working phone. One of the questions I came across is how to copy all of my contacts(200+) from iPhone to Z2? As they are totally different plaftforms and can't think up a way to get it done.

Would some one give me any suggestion?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

You should be able to use our program PC Companion to transfer your contacts from your iPhone to your Xperia Z2:

In PC Companion you can use Contacts setup or Xperia Transfer to move your content. You can find further information about Xperia Transfer at the following link:

If you don't wan't to use the xperia software for whatever reason, you can simply activate your gmail account in your iPhone and sync your contacts with google and it should all happen automagically in your Z2

If you have anything saved on your SIM card, such as address book contacts, make sure to save these things to your device memory or your media card first. That will ensure they get transferred during the device switch. On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Select ‘Add Account’ and select ‘Microsoft Exchange’. Enter your Gmail username and password when you’re asked. Now, in the ‘Server’ field, type m.google.com and select ‘Yes’ to sync contacts and calendars.

you can download Xperia Transfer App from the google play store it's from sony and very easy 🙂

I used Sony PC companion a few weeks ago when I switched from my iPhone 5s to my Z2.

It copied all my contacts, photos, videos and found all my apps in the play store.

The only problem is that you need a itunes backup because it reads your latest itunes backup and restores data from that

You can transfer contact from iPhone to Samsung S6, Sony Xperia, HTC etc. via iCloud. Please sync your iPhone contacts to iCloud firstly and then export it to vCard(VCF file). Please copy the VCF file to Sony Z2 via USB or etc, now you can import the contacts from device storage(VCF file).

Or you can also transfer iPhone contacts to Samsung via third-party tools like this.

That's also one way you can do it. The vCard file can also be added directly to your Google account and when you add the Google account in your phone and sync the contacts, they will appear in your phone:
https://contacts.google.com

Go to More > Import > Mark the vCard (.vcf-file) and you can import them.

I have the same proble. Can you give me more informations?

Hi @KatrinaKaif,

What problem do you experience? To export the contacts to a vCard file? If I'm not mistaken, you need to login with your Apple-id at https://www.icloud.com/ > Go to Contacts > Mark all contacts > In the bottom left corner you should find the gear wheel > Choose Export vCard > Save it on your desktop e.g > You can now move this file to your Xperia phone or import it at your Google account (https://contacts.google.com).

Hi,I was an Iphone 5 user until it broke and now was recently given a Sony XperiaZ2 phone from a friend.Trying to get my contacts downloaded from my icloud account and downloaded the Mac software from sony to allow same.When I connected the Sony a message came up syaing 'your device is locked'. I haven't got a clue what to do and can anyone help me proceed, please 🙂 Thanks a heap. Btw, I am impressed with battery life compared to the iphone 5 on standby.wow.thank you all again,

Try Gmail or phone transfer tool to help you transfer iPhone contacts to Z2. About the details, just search online and choose the way you like better.

Yes, it is not that much trouble. You can transfer contacts via Google Account + iCloud/iTunes: Sync contacts to iCloud/iTunes > Export contacts from iCloud/iTunes and import them into Google Accounts > Log in to your Google account on your Android phone and download contacts. And, if you don't have a lot of contacts and don't have more than 200, you can use the SIM card to transfer the iPhone contacts to Xperia Z2.
