native email app issue on 4.2.2 14.1.B.1.510 z ultra

Does anybody know how to fix the email issue im having on my z ultra,the settings are correct,its a pop3 account,when i sync it downloads the emails but doesnt show anything in my inbox or any other folder.it just displays how many new emails have been received.when i delete the account and remake it again then it downloads the emails,then i can see and read them in my inbox,but the next time it syncs and i get new mail it doesnt show the new mail in the inbox,it just shows me i have new mail....and to get that mail i'd have to delete and remake the account,whats up with that?

try this

goto settings>>apps>>all>>email>>clear data and turn off ur 4n and on after that try it

Do not forget to give kudosand to select the correct answer

I dont think i would update to kitkat,i have heard of the many issues that sony cant fix yet,i dont want to exchange my current jellybean issues with new kitkat issues.

Hmm,i hate to say this but it works! BUT!! Let me test it by sending myself a bunch of random emails to see if it continues to work afterwards.if it still works in a few hours i'll let you know:-)

I was almost happy,it doesnt work.heres what happened and i didnt even need an hour,the email app(webmail) downloaded 25 emails and showed me i have 25 new emails,i sent an email to that account from my gmail account and i refreshed the email app(webmail) and it downloaded that 1 new mail for a total of 26 new emails.i then deleted ALL 26 emails and refreshed again and it downloaded another 25 emails from my server BUT this time it showed that there are 25 new emails but my inbox was completely empty,i then went to my gmail and sent another email to the email app(webmail) and refreshed,it showed i now have 26 new emails but it didnt show a single email,the inbox is empty.i got all the notifications in the statusbar but the inbox is empty.

WAIT!!!! I figured something out,if i go to 'pre-download email' under 'data usage' in the settings and you tick that option and then it works normally,if you untick it then i have the problem where it doesnt show the emails!

Why would sony put that option there?so unless i pre-download the entire email regardless of how big it is i wont see any mail in my inbox?shouldnt it be that it should only download the email header/subject and download the rest when i select the email to read?what if somebody sends me an email thats 1gb big...does that mean the email app would download the entire mail wether its spam or not.that would be very expensive.
Is that what that option means or am i not thinking straight?

I'l give you kudo's cos if you didnt tell me what to do i would have never figured the 'pre-download email' thing out...even though i still dont understand it.
