Hello!

I have a folder having my personal photos & videos that I don't want MOVIES app to show, and a folder of movies and music videos that I don't want the ALBUM app to show.

Adding a .nomedia file or hiding these folders by adding a dot(.) prefix will not solve the issue as that will totally skip these from MEDIA SCANNER.

I realize when I move my personal album folder inside DCIM, the MOVIES app skip it from displaying in default view (they are still accessible from Movie App's Menu > Camera) which is a near-perfect solution, as this folder is still displaying properly in ALBUM.

Is there any similar folder where I can put my movies and music videos, so only MOVIES app show them and not the ALBUM app?

Please tell me if there is any way to get this task done.

Thanks!

Just add a dot (.)
infront of the folder you want to hide and youre done

Thanks for the reply. It seems you didn't even reached the 2nd paragraph of my post and replied in a rush

Unfortunately John98ZaKaria is correct, you can either hide them completely using the .nomedia method or not at all sorry.

I see. John98ZaKaria is saying correct. Even the .nomedia method doesn't work with ALBUM. The only way to hide something from ALBUM is to add a dot(.) prefix and hide the folder. Guess I should search for another photo app that lets us select our desired folders to scan.

Thank you both for answering me.

Take care!

There is a third party app available on google play store "Keep safe".
USe that to hide the files which you want to skip from movies.
