"We can advise Sony Xperia do not test our products with other manufacturer’s devices and so we can not confirm the two devices are compatible.

As the handset has been updated this does indicate it is running different software which means the Bluetooth will have also been updated. Sadly, as Sony Xperia does not test our products with third party Bluetooth devices we will not have been able to foresee the change with your specific device.

We could only suggest that you contact the manufacturer of the device for any further assistance as there is nothing further we could advise."

As well as they dont test their products AT ALL.. as the bluetooth doesn't work with thier own products either...

Its the CD400 system,

Surely a company like Sony would not alienate 10 of 1000s of customers by being aware of this problem and not sorting it out. Vauxhall is one of the largest manufacturers in the world why would they not consider it important.

I have a 2014 model Ford Fiesta and I'm having the same issues with my BT connection, plus the stay awake bug if I allow the car to read my text messages, so this is another major car manufacturer that Sony has either forgotten about or ignored.

Why does Sony choose to hide behind the screen of "we don,t test to be compatible with other companies products"?
This is not about products rather it is about being compatible with a standard or to be more precise to be backward compatible to a known worldwide standard. The problem we all have is that Sony ask us to use their latest software as a fix to all problems. In this case their software uses Bluetooth v4, sony have not made their v4 backwards compatible with previous Bluetooth standards. And to make it worse they won't let us roll back to an Xperia software version that is compatible with Bluetooth v2. Come on Sony we have all supported you by investing fair sum of money in your handsets why not support us by having one of your talented engineers re code your blue tooth module to be backwards compatible or allow us to regress our Xperia software to a version that was. I for one need a positive response soon before I lose faith in you as a company and turn from an advocate in to a vocal detractor.

This issue also affects the brand new Z3c flagship handset. I am unable to connect with my existing 3rd party bluetooth devices, which is not a problem for either the iPhone 5s or the Samsung S5.

Dear Sony, please fix your bluetooth. It's unfair for users who took a risk buying your phone over the usual handset makers.
