Ring on/notifications off

Hi. With the Xperia Z1, do you know if there is a way to (quickly) have my notifications turned off eg. SMS and email notifications, but still have my phone able to ring?

At night I need to have it on in case of calls due to a work situation, but don't want it *binging* all night with emails and SMSes. Or do I have to go in and manually turn them off, then back on later? Thanks

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

As far as I know, it's not possible as default to just have the ringtone active. Via Settings > Sound > Volumes, you will turn off the sound for both ringtone and notifications.

Perhaps, a third party application via Google Play can make this possible. Search on "sound manager" for example.

Great forum. Had a good look around and appreciate the advice here.

Thanks for the reply. I tried one of the apps and fiddled with it for ages, but yeah - it wouldn't isolate just the ring tone. When I read all the reviews people said the same thing about the later android phones and especially the Xperia Z. Ah well.
