Storage space running out problem

I deleted most of my photos, downloads etc. But it still keeps saying that. I can't download anything on google play anymore.

Do you have a sd card?Move your photos and music to it.

This does seem strange, are you able to advise how much space you have left within the handset?

Menu > Settings > Apps > Downloaded > Check the bottom section.

I have no sd card. On apps it says "11gb used" and "486mb left"

Try this: Settings-apps-all-media storage,force stop and clear data.Restart your phone.See how much you have left now.

It may be possible you have a lot of cache or you have hidden files like thumbnails from when you had photo's and other data files on your phone which will be taking up space - Using a file manager app try and change the setting for show hidden files and folder and check for the thumbnail files and also install an app like 1tapcleaner and delete your cache as this can also build up especially if using the web browser or reading on line newspapers etc

go to settings-storage and look there what occupies most of your memory. you can also tap cache and delete all cache i hope this helps

I use Astro as I know from my Xperia S days you can choose to show hidden files and folders

Can you please advise what the figure shows within Storage.

Menu > settings > Storage

Let us know what is using the memory, you should see a colorful bar with a legend below it.

In Astro tap on Multi then select all then delete or select all then tap on files you want to keep to deselect then tap delete

7.38gb photos. I think they are hidden spam photos

@ JadeBaco,

If you wish to remove the photos faster, I suggest that you connect your handset to a PC and find the DCIM folder with thumbnails and remove them. You can easily scan through folders using a PC.

Are you aware on how to access the internal storage through a PC?
