Phone is closing/opening apps on its own

As said, My phone is opening/closing apps and swiping the screen on its own..

It can open apps, close apps, swipe/change sites all on its own.

And when it is in this state i cant even turn off the phone pressing the on/off button.

When it is in this state i cant controll the phone at all, i just have to wait until it stops wich usually takes a few minutes.

Do you think this is caused by an app or is the phone malfunctioning ?

I am using the app ''Master Cleaner'' do speed up the phone and it allso searches the apps for virus. No virus found.

I suggest you remove the task killer,see how it goes.

When my phone started doing exactly as stated in the OP, I took it back to the shop who sent it off for repair. I was given a new phone and this too is starting to do it now. I had problems with my last phone, an Xperia S too. I doubt I'll be buying a Sony phone again.

Are you sure that you did not install antivirus,task killers etc,apps that could interfere with the operating system?

Actually, I have Avg Anti Virus at the moment, with a task killer add on. I'll uninstall them and see how it goes. Thanks.

Ok ill try to uninstall Master Cleaner. But arent Task killers a good thing ? As there are no in-built application to kill tasks with ? And same with Anti Virus ?

You can force close your apps from settings-apps-running.It is not recommended to use such apps because they can stop apps that you need.Also,antivirus is not needed if you know you are installing from trustful sources(eg google play).

Hi i uninstalled the Master Cleaner app but the problem persists.. its writes random letters on its own.. like if its pusing the screen on its own.. if i try to close an app it will just close it again and do all kinds of random stuff =(

Ok ill give it a try, but the reason i put a screen protector on it is because the screen gets so easily smudged and scratched =P

I know,but sometimes it might affect the touchscreen and you will see some strange things.

I am currently having this same issue on my mobile phone.

Its opening and closing apps, swiping side ways, making things larger and smaller and changing my settings.

I do not have 'task killer' or 'master cleaner' and a screen protector on my mobile.

I have owned this phone for nearly 2 years.

I have noticed that the screen will stop doing this when i push down and hold my finger in the middle of the screen which allows me to use it by using another finger.

Please help me to fix this, I love this phone and am not keen to be replacing it with another.

I think the problems is the screen. Either the screen is simply broken or moisture has gotten into the phone and reacts on the screen. I had my phone replaced.

Have you had your phone in water recently? Or perhaps you had it repaired? Because after they repair the phone it usually isn't waterproof anymore, sadly.

I also have this problem on a new phone, its 3 months old. No screen protector or anti virus. It started a few days ago with a dead patch on the touch screen when using Chrome. Now today its like its posessed, opening apps and swiping through things, zooming in and out. I have it next to me right now after restarting it and its opening apps ive never even used before.

I am really regretting switching from iphone to android, this is so annoying!
