Z1 Charger/Software

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me... Just yesterday for some reason my phone stopped charging whilst turned on...

I have tried different chargers so i know this isn't a problem with the charger, My phone is recognised on the PC but the problem i am having is that i did the PC Companion repair thing and half way through updating my software my phone keeps disconnecting from the PC, this seems to be everytime my phone turns on to complete the process. My USB is not being recognised by the phone whilst turned on for some reason but will charge/connect to PC when turned off...

I NEED HELP AS THERE IS NOW CURRENTLY NO SOFTWARE ON MY PHONE - COMPLETELY UNUSABLE...

Is there another way to do it or could anyone please help????

It's definately not the USB cables as i have tried different ones.

I would suggest repairing via sony update service:

Alexdon - I am trying this now... But i cant figure out whether this is a hardware problem or not as my USB isnt recognised as the phone turns on... So i can connect the phone and start the update but cannot finish at it requires the phone to come on and install the software

For sony update service,the phone needs to be turned off.

Yes this is correct... But my phone keeps disconnecting from the USB during the update.. Seemingly at the point the phone turns on each time..

Force shut down your device(power button+vol up until the phone vibrates 3 times).Retry the process.

This could be a flash driver issue - What O/S are you running as this can happen if using a 64bit system or Windows 8 / 8.1

Still not working... everytime my phone gets plugged into computer it shows the red LED whilst turned off and makes the sound it is connected then disconnects itself from the PC after about 5 seconds every time... Tried this on 2 laptops running no firewall...

I still think that you should visit a nearby sony centre.
