Hi, I was proud of my Xp Z until I got and accepted the Jelly update yesterday. Now, I am loaded with problems and I don't know how to tackle them. - First off, the battery started draining away within 6 hours. I had to shut down several services, but still it is draining away at an unusual rate, whereas I had >3 days life before the upgrade. - The rear of the unit is always hot, which is obviously draining the battery life. - Unable to connect back to the PC Companion as the USB is not connecting, don't know how to fix it. - The mobile shows some other update ready for download, 10.4.1.B.0.101, which Sony says graciously will tackle the battery issue, but the download doesn't start, for some unknown reason. - An update for the Album is pending, - Mobile is considerably slower than before. I looking for a resolution for the whole issues which I did not bargain for in the first place.

See? I received the unit from the Authorised Service Center in Dubai. I have the same problems as before giving to them.

I had clearly explained to them about -

a) fast battery drain

b) intermittent unit hangs/freezes

c) intermittent restart

d) no connection to PC Companion

What kind of a service center is this? Some hole in the wall outlet? Is Sony upto this level?

Perhaps back-up your data to the Google servers and then Factory reset the phone. then try to connect using the PCC, don't know why but the SUS seems to cause more problems with all devices. Good Luck

Hi, I have observed the following with the XpZ for the last two days.

After repairing the software with the PC Companion or SUS, as long as I don't connect the Wifi or Bluetooth, everything is fine.

At this stage, the mobile will have only the default applications, no connectivity and you can load the contact details from any saved vcf files.

In this condition, I am getting very good battery life, no freezing or hanging or restarting complaints. i have done this for the last two days at a strech and it is stable.

I believe, once I connect to wifi or bluetooth, all **bleep** breaks loose and the handset becomes a hot devil.

If Sony can try this much and get back to me with some solutions,it would be nice. I cannot continue to use the smartphone as a dumb phone for ever.

Thank you
