Yes you can downgrade but this has to be done manually - Please find a very detailed list of firmwares here - Instructions can be found here

or you can use this guide here - Ignore the title as it's the process you need to follow, simply download the .ftf file from the 1st link and substitute it as per point 5

I wouldn't like to say - Some say yes some say no - Now as you don't need to unlock your bootloader to flash and if you flash the firmware that is applicable to your phone ie: what it came with due to country etc then you should be fine - It's not like other phone manufactures which have a flash counter

Hi, there

I just upgraded today.. Immediately my battery is draining faster and my phone is warm all the time (even on standby).. Also some video hardware acceleration is not available (I am using mx player to play .m2ts). So I want to downgrade back to 4.3. The thing is the customization version is 1276-7951_R3C and the FTF file is country specific for 4.4.2 Kitkat which is C6903 14.3.A.0.681 Generic ID 1276-7951_R3C... But I could not find the same country for Android 4.3 and I did not know what region my previous firmware was.. I mainly used my z1 for phone call, sms and video playback (super quality video playback) so 4.4.2 does not cut it for me. No errors or crashed encountered so far.Any suggestion or input ? Thank you

Thank you for the quick reply..

I am going to try for a week or so to see how well this new OS performs. But I think I will still downgrade it after I confirmed with my local Sony Service Center that it will not void my warranty since I just bought this phone late January 2014. One of the major turn off with the new KitKat is it disabled some hardware acceleration for superb quality video playback, which is the only reason why I decided to upgraded to Xperia z1 with powerful snapdragon 800. I have played around with the new OS and so far I do not need or use any additional features in KitKat and I never had any problems with the previous 4.3.

I went to the local Service Center today and at first they denied that such bugs exist, must be something wrong with the device. Then they said that downgrading the os will void the warranty and if i want to they can re flash the current Kitkat, or everytime my device overheated they can re-flash it.Which means i have to go there EVERYDAY :D. Then they said (just saying...) they can fix it when the device broke down and the warranty will cover the battery as well (I highly doubt this). In short, garbage OS and crap Xperia Care.

To be honest I was a huge fan of Sony Ericsson W series, then the same crap happened before, I moved to Samsung from Galaxy Tab 1 till now. I decided to give Sony another go since the Customer Service and all seems to be modernised and the product seems a lot better. Apparently I am wrong, dead wrong...They are still the same crap and garbage as before (well at least in Indonesia they are)... So disappointed, now my expensively bought 3 month old Z1 will be a standby phone running power safe mode from 80 percent battery... Crap... total crap...
