Problem with Xperia Z1 Camera

Hi guys

Just 2 months ago i bought my z1 and although I am quite happy with my xperia Z1 i've encountered a problem and need you to help me.

The fact is that by putting the camera in manual mode and select 20MP image quality the camera continues taking pictures between 6 and 8 MPx maximum

It is normal?

My phone is:

Xperia Z1 C6903

Android 4.3

Compilation: 14.2.A.1.136

Could you elaborate ? Just tested my Xperia Z1 and 20mp it is 20mp,

Manual > settings > make sure that it is indeed at 20mp

I attach some captures from my phone where you all can see the camera config, the photo taken and the photo details.... i tried a lot of configurations but I can't get a 20mpx photo... as you can see the photo attached is only 7,5 Mb !!!!

If this could help or give a clue about the problem.... if i convert the jpg file into PNG file the new PNG file is 21 Mb

Looking at the details of the picture you've taken it is 20,7MP so your camera is working. The picture you've taken is 5248x3936 according to the album app which is 20,7MP.

As you tell me the details say "5248x3936" thats true but the image size is only 7,5Mp and its seems strange for a 5248x3936 image.

During this months i tried to take photos with a lot of colour, more contrast, darkness to test if just because there is not enought elements into the photo to get the information required to get a size like 15 to 20 Mb, but always have photos with 5 to 8 Mp.

I've a standard camera with 18mpx and the photo size is always between 15-20 Mb, so... sound very extrange a 20MPx photo with 5248x3936 size and only 7,5Mp... right?

I have a big problem in my Z1 camera. The camera does not work at all. When I open the camera app, black screen appears with icons of the camera and when I press on the capture icon, the phone get stacked. Can you help me, what is the solution?

Hi

Have the same problem. First i could just take one photo then the camera freeze and i have to restart the phone. Now its all black. Is't a bug or Is't something wrong with my phone?

Oh god, I was about to post this! I really got sick of the camera turning black screen. I just counted howlong it takes to load the camera, I've been waiting for 13 SECONDS! I also get a error here and then; Error! Camera not available. Is anyone able to help me?

When i just tap the camera app or switch between front and back ones,it runs so slowly!!!i tried to delete some camera apps but nothing is happening!!! I did "backup & reset" and i noticed a progress only for 24 hours and it began to act the same!!! How can i overcome this problem???

camera has been freezing after taking a photo and now there is only a black screen when i turn camera on

Hi! I'm having a problem regarding the camera of my xperia z1. After the software update, the camera becomes blurry and have a flashy images and it feels like it's not a 20.7 Mega pixel. Please help me. Thanks in advance.
